~I recommend scheduling your shoot between weeks 33 and 37 of your pregnancy. This way you will have a big beautiful round belly BUT you will still be able to move freely with little discomfort. You will doing a lot of poses at your maternity photo shoot, some requiring you to sit down then stand back up.
~Gather props to bring along – an ultrasound printout, alphabet blocks that spell your baby’s name, baby shoes, teddies, flowers, whatever you’ve seen in other maternity photos that you like.
~Each person has their own individual clothing preferences. Choose your clothes based on the level of comfort you enjoy and the style of shoot. You can opt to be fully clothed, partially clothed or nude for the photo shoot. A closely fitted top will put more emphasis on your belly. Loose fitted clothes do not create flattering maternity images.
~If you’re doing semi-nude/implied nude photos, bras and underwear will create noticeable lines on your skin, so wear loose-fitting clothing to the shoot. You can add undergarments as necessary for photos later in the shoot.
~Do bring your significant other or children ! They’ll make a great addition to your photos. They should bring outfits that coordinate with what you’ll be wearing.
The focus should always be on you, your expressions, your emotions, your personality, your joy and your connection.
